Happy Engineering Day 

Engineering significance of lotus flower sculpted on

 top of the domes to save the cyclonic damages.

The upward leaves of the lotus, gap and grooved between two leaves and different small  width of the leaf towards the end. 

This type of construction not only stops the leakage of rainwater but also saves cyclonic wind damages. This type of design is mainly to decrease the wind speed and lateral pressure on the top of the Central dome for any unaccounted pressure difference created by the strong cyclonical winds on the top of the dome.

Thus this design of lotus flower also saves the decorative crowing element of the Taj Mahal dome, “ The Finial. ”

This junction is the most critical part of the central dome. It has not been maintained properly, damages may be in future.

 ताजमहल को "उबटन " से भी कही ज्यादा कुदरत के रंगो से वर्ष दर वर्ष नहलाया जाता है जिससे ताज की तस्वीर धुन्धुली नहीं बल्कि और उजली - निखरती नजर आ रही है।

परन्तु बरसात के पानी का रिसाव (Seepage) आज के मार्बल के धब्बे को गहरा पीला करता आ रहा है  - निदान अति आव्यशक है - जो की हमारी रिसर्च का एक हिस्सा है।

कुदरत ने बरसात के पानी और ओस की बूंदो को, बेसुमार ऐसी शक्तियों से नमाजा है कि सूखे  पेड़ो को जीवन देती है। फिर भला ताजमहल के माथे पर पीला हरे दाग़ धब्बे को मिटाने का काम आसपास वायु आभामंडल का वातावरण बिलकुल ही आसान कर देता है। परन्तु उसके लिए सिविल इंजीनियरिंग के ज्ञान का होना प्रथम शर्त है। अन्यथा वक्त की धूल में दबे, इतिहास के पनो पर ताज की तस्वीर हमेशा ही धुन्धुली सी नज़र आएगी - एक रिपोर्ट
